ERASMUS PROGRAMME
Ballymakenny College is proud to be part of Erasmus+, the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport running from 2021 to 2027.
Erasmus+ allows teachers, learners, and school education staff to travel to another country to train, job-shadow or learn. It provides funding and support for organisations to carry out projects that match its objectives and that encourage European exchange, co-operation, and learning.
Audrey Lennon is the Erasmus+ Co-ordinator in Ballymakenny College.
Mobility Project 2023-2024:
Ballymakenny College carried out their first mobility project through the Erasmus+ programme over the course of the 2023-2024 academic year. Our project examined teaching methods with a focus on ICT with our partner school Colegio San Buenaventura in Madrid. Teachers Phil, Nick, Aidan and Sinéad participated in the mobility project through a series of online meetings and a visit to our partner school where they took part in job-shadowing. Our teachers returned to our school to share their knowledge on project-based teaching as well as other online tools that would aid the teaching and learning in Ballymakenny College.
