Offensive material

Social Media Content
Dear Parent/Guardian,
We would like to draw your attention to concerning content that is being posted online in relation to members of our school community. We are aware that offensive posts are being shared anonymously online, particularly on TikTok and Snapchat. This is mainly with Junior students.
It has come to our attention that BKC Memes and Drogheda Memes are two such accounts on TikTok that have shared offensive material. We encourage parents/guardians to monitor your child's online activity and to report inappropriate accounts/posts to the relevant social media platforms who can take appropriate such as deleting offensive posts and removing accounts. If students accept and engage with anonymous accounts/posts, they are giving those users a platform to continue the sharing of offensive material.

Creating or sharing offensive posts, including but not limited to those containing hate speech, discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate content, is not only harmful but also violates our school's code of conduct and values of respect and inclusivity.

We urge all students to think carefully before posting or sharing anything online. Consider the impact your words and actions may have on others, both within and outside of our school community. Remember that once something is posted online, it can spread quickly and have long-lasting effects.

Creating or sharing offensive posts, including but not limited to those containing hate speech, discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate content, is not only harmful but also violates our school's Code of Behaviour and values of respect and inclusivity.

We are committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all students.

Let's work together to promote positivity, kindness, and respect both online and offline.

We are committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all students.
